Summer at Susquehanna means the flexibility of summer you need plus the same high degree of personal attention you expect here.

With nearly 50 courses online in a variety of areas, we have what you’re looking for—whether you’re already a student here, go somewhere else but are home for the summer or still in high school.

Our professors are committed to connecting with you and are available on Skype and email to answer your questions about their courses.

Pick from two intensive, four-week sessions or a regular seven-week session.

For students still in high school, this is a great way to get a feel for us and get Central Curriculum courses out of the way at a fraction of the price of full-time tuition.

Registration is easy, our credits transfer to many other institutions and you can complete most classes from the comfort of your home or anywhere else in the world!

More than 50 classes are offered during:

  • Intensive summer session I (May 20 to June 14)
  • Intensive summer session II (July 8 to August 2)

Susquehanna students, as well as students from other universities and members of the community, are all welcome to enroll in summer classes.

Students who enroll in summer classes will receive an e-statement notification in their Susquehanna University email account from noreply@afford.com regarding their summer fees. Payment is due upon receipt.

The Writing and Thinking course offered as part of the Intensive II Session is only available to Susquehanna students who are in their second year or above. If you are currently a first year (or a non-SU student) and are interested in taking the course, please contact Nick Clark, director of the summer session, at clarkn@susqu.edu.

Meet Some of Our Faculty

Matt Duperon

Matt Duperon

Teaches: Intro to Religious Studies and Intro to Asian Studies

"Teaching online during the summer lets me reach students in some very different contexts from when we're all on campus, and that opens all sorts of opportunities to apply ideas from class to our real, lived experiences."

Samya Zain

Samya Zain

Teaches: Physics of Music, Introductory Physics I (Calculus-based and Algebra-based) and Introductory Physics II (Calculus-based and Algebra-based)

"The idea at the heart of the summer program is to provide students with the opportunity to learn more, expand their horizons and develop interests beyond just their primary majors."

Alissa Packer

Alissa Packer

Teaches: Ecology and Evolution

"The summer session has given me the opportunity to focus on teaching students about the nature of scientific inquiry and the relevance of science to our daily lives. An appreciation of how scientists generate new knowledge, together with an understanding of why it all matters, is critical for a scientifically literate public and will leave students better prepared to make responsible, informed decisions about issues related to science, technology, health and the environment."

Nick Clark

Teaches: Comparative Govt and Politics and Protecting Human Rights

"The Summer Session has served as a time for experimentation at SU, in which faculty innovate and explore new and dynamic methods for bringing a liberal arts education into the lives of our students."
